Counseling Services

Background & Rationale

In contemporary society, individuals across generations face complex personal, professional, relational, and financial dilemmas. While advice is abundant, safe spaces for reflection, dialogue, and collective wisdom are rare. Many people struggle in isolation, unsure where to turn, reluctant to seek formal therapy, or hesitant to disclose personal concerns publicly.

What Do I Do? is designed to address this gap. It is a reflective, community-based support group that enables individuals to explore real-life dilemmas through anonymous storytelling, guided dialogue, and inter-generational insight, without judgment or exposure.

The initiative sits under Alkitaab Social Outreach, aligning with its mission to nurture intellectual growth, emotional literacy, and community learning.

Concept Overview

What Do I Do? operates on the belief that:

  • Every lived experience carries wisdom
  • Perspective often emerges through collective reflection
  • Guidance does not always require direct advice; sometimes it requires listening, reframing, and thoughtful questioning

Participants submit real-life challenges, which are ethically anonymized and presented as third-person narratives. These stories become learning cases for group reflection, moderated by a professional facilitator relevant to the nature of the issue (psychologist, counselor, financial expert, etc.).

Target Audience

  • Young adults navigating life transitions
  • Mid-career professionals facing personal or workplace dilemmas
  • Parents, caregivers, and individuals managing relational or financial concerns
  • Older adults seeking reflection, meaning, or clarity
  • Anyone who values thoughtful dialogue across generations

No age, gender, profession, or background restrictions apply.

P.S: No issues/stories concerning legal matters should be accommodated.
